Recycling rate of packaging in Germany in 2019 maintained at a high level. Overall, recycling rate increased by 2.5 percentage points to 80.8%. That is part of the results in the Packaging Recycling Report from GVM. More information can be found here.
in 2018, 42.8% of the beverages consumed in Germany were filled in reusable and in ecologically beneficial one-way beverage packaging. That is 0.8 percentage points lower than in the previous year. 21% of plastic packaging can be replaced by corrugated cardboard. This would save around 0.8 million tons of plastic per year.
