A medium-sized company with a focus on the production of corrugated cardboard packaging.
The Challenge
The company is pursuing an organic growth strategy. The market attractiveness of a second production site in Germany is to be examined in order to create a well-founded decision-making basis for the investment.
The Solution
The project was carried out together with Berndt + Partner and included the following analysis steps:
- Analysis of the customer’s product portfolio and market analysis of the resulting target industries with the aim of clarifying the attractiveness of the customer’s product portfolio for the target industries
- Identification of potential customers and their sales potential in the regional environment of the potential location
- Survey of a selection of potential customers to identify market requirements and market entry barriers.
- Carrying out a competitive analysis with a focus on the new location, including an evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of the competitors compared to the client.
The various analysis results were compared with the sales expectations at the potential location. The opportunities and risks were evaluated. This resulted in recommendations that were discussed with the clients in a workshop.
The Result
The detailed analyzes gave the customer an overview of the market conditions of a second location. The decision was then made very quickly.
