11/2020: Recycling rate of material increased slightly in 2019
Recycling rate of packaging in Germany in 2019 maintained at a high level. Overall, recycling rate increased by 2.5 percentage points to 80.8%. That is part of the results in the Packaging Recycling Report from GVM. More information can be found here.
10/2020: German Federal Environment Agency (UBA) publishes GVM’s study “German-wide data collection on the consumption of beverages in reusable and in ecologically advantageous one-way beverage packaging – reference year 2018”.
in 2018, 42.8% of the beverages consumed in Germany were filled in reusable and in ecologically beneficial one-way beverage packaging. That is 0.8 percentage points lower than in the previous year. 06/2020: Substitution of Plastic Packaging using Corrugated Cardboard
21% of plastic packaging can be replaced by corrugated cardboard. This would save around 0.8 million tons of plastic per year. This is the result of GVM’s study on behalf of RESY Organization für Wellstoffentsorgung GmbH.
