93.7% of PET beverage bottles are recycled
Up to 93.7% of PET beverage bottles are recycled. This is the result of a study conducted by GVM on behalf of Forum PET of the German Association for Plastic Packaging Industry (Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen e.V.). The study is the first to combine the available data material and the underlying expertise on the recycling of PET beverage bottles in a self-contained material flow model that is free of contradictions in terms of definition and content.
