In 2019, 4.5 billion units of beverage cans were brought into circulation in Germany. Their recycling rate is extraordinarily high: aluminum beverage cans reach a recycling rate of 99.3%, while tinplate beverage cans of 99.7%. Among the garbage that was carelessly thrown into the environment, beverage cans make up only 0.03% and is therefore almost negligible. <\/p>\n<p>This is the result of a new study carried out by GVM on behalf of DAVR GmbH, the Forum Flaschendose GbR and ThyssenKrupp Rasselstein GmbH.
